Juan Ricardo Ortiz (aka) John Richard, Gained his wings and went to be with our lord March 31, 2023 in Corpus Christi, TX. At 72 years of age, he was born on February 26, 1951, to Juan and Juliana Valent Ortiz. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Felicitas Bazan, Siblings Rudy Rivas (Helen), Ruben and Rosendo Guzman. He is survived by his loving wife Rosalva Reyes Ortiz of almost 51 years. His children Jackie (Abel Salazar) Juan Ortiz (Patty Salinas), Judy Ortiz (Alex Martinez) and his fur baby Porky Ortiz. Brothers and Sisters, Robert Guzman (Angie), Raul Contreras (Linda), Anna Garza (Robert), Rosa Valdez as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He left a legacy of family and will be deeply missed by 19 Grand Children, 23 Great Grand Children, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. John Graduated in 1970, from Foy H Moody High School where he played Tenor Saxophone in the Moody band. His favorite pass times were to gather his friends and family play games, listen to music, BBQ, and cook for them. John loved to spend time with the family fishing and hunting. He had a great sense of humor and was a jokester. John stayed active playing pool in a pool league and playing saxophone in the Patriot Band. He retired with 22 years of service for the City of Corpus Christi Street Division. He enjoyed doing woodwork projects in his pass time for his children and grandchildren. John Richard was a diehard and loyal Dallas Cowboy and Moody Trojan Baseball fan. He was true to the blue, through and through. Pallbearers: Jesse Ortiz, Rolando Garza, Jason Garza, Joseph Ortiz, Alejandro Martinez (AJ), and Juan Ricardo Ortiz III. Honorary pallbearers: Aidan Rey Ortiz and Jayden Ortiz.
