Josefa Victoria Bernal, devoted Jehovah’s Witness, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, died Monday, October 24, 2022, at the age of 72. She was born to Miguel Gallegos and Nicolasa Avalos de Gallegos on December 23, 1949 in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Though she had a modest academic education, she attributed her formal education to the many years of studying the bible, which began just shortly before her public dedication as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1976. Thereafter, she began her 45 year spiritual career as a Regular Pioneer, in which she helped many learn about God's purpose for mankind and the earthly hope of living forever in a paradisiac setting… as God originally intended for each of us.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her late husbands: Armando Montemayor and Marcelino Bernal.
Survivors include her four children: Jesus Armando Montemayor (married to Anna Montemayor), Moises Montemayor (married to Yvette Montemayor), Abraham Montemayor (married to Lizeth Montemayor) and Virginia Slovak (married to Edwin Slovak). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for all the condolences, thoughts and prayers shared in this moment of grief.
The funeral arrangements will be held privately for immediate family only… per the deceased’s wishes.
