Jose G. Espinoza, 91 passed away on Friday May 17, 2013. He was born on November 23, 1921 in Pettus, Texas, raised in Sinton, Texas and lived his life in Corpus Christi, Texas. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Corpus Christi Army Depot after 33 years of being an aircraft mechanic, then inspector. Among his many accomplishments are boxing coach, Scout Master, CCD teacher, Cursillo, St. Joseph Men’s Club, Corpus Christi Literacy Council, North American Seniors, Lindale Senior Center, Senior Softball, National G.I. Forum, C.C. Founder Chapter, Knights of Columbus CC Council #2710, KC District Deputy, KC Patriotic 4th Degree, and numerous other ministries at several parishes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Santos Espinoza; siblings, Elisa, Leonor, Cruzita, Elvira, Manuel, Luis, Margil, Pedro, and Porfirio; son, Jesse T. Espinoza; daughter, Elvira Santos Espinoza; grandchildren, Angela E. Sanchez, Ross Blanchard, and Rene Blanchard. He is survived by his beloved wife, Minnie of 62 years; children, Gloria Grande (Alfredo), Joe A. Espinoza (Felecia), Amanda E. Sanchez (Arnold), Veronica De La Paz, and Terry Espinoza; sisters, Guadalupe Canedo, and Ana Benavidez; grandchildren, Adam D. Garcia, Eric D. Garcia, Jesse Joe Garcia, Johnny Flores, Arnold Sanchez, Audrey Hinojosa, Adrian Sanchez, Richard D. Chapa, Jr., Robert Jacob De La Paz, Clarissa V. De La Paz, Ani Gonzalez, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening, at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 a 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
