John Ramirez was born June 9, 1944 to Joaquin Ramirez and Frances Estrada Ramirez in San Antonio, Texas.

He passed away on July 17, 2020 following a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joaquin and Frances Ramirez, his sister Eloisa Garcia and brother Jose Ruven Ramirez.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary C. Ramirez; two sons John (Elizabeth) Ramirez and Jose Antonio (Samantha) Ramirez; two daughters Delia (Frank) Serrato and Carmen (Rick) Boatright; six grandsons Jeremiah L. and Nathaniel L. Boatright, Christian A. Villegas, James Patrick Fenner, Jacob and Jadon Ramirez; two brothers Jack (Lisa) Ramirez and Jesse Ramirez; two sisters Mary (Candido) Gomez and Lupe (David) Castillo; Sister-in-law Olga Ramirez and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Thomas Spann Clinic for their care and attention during his illness.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
