John was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: truck driver, amateur pilot, fisherman, Little League baseball manager and he could fix or build anything. He worked diligently for the City of Corpus Christi for many years, retiring in March 1999, as the Assistant Manager of the CC International Airport.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them - and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.
He is preceded by his parents; his faithful wife, Maggye Beth Fortenberry Pinson; son, Richard Deward Pinson; daughter, Pamala Beth Pinson Paris; brothers, Wayne Pinson and Lyndon Dale Pinson; sister, Melba Pinson Harden and granddaughter, Bethany Paris.
John is survived by his son, David Wayne Pinson; sister, Margaret Pinson Spitzer; grandchildren, Chad Pinson, Megan Pinson Husher, Farron Pinson, Kyle Ball, Kelda Pinson, Nathan Pinson, Matthew Pinson, Hayden Pinson, Trevor Pinson and Micah Paris; numerous great-grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will greatly miss him.
