He was born in Falfurrias, Texas on March 2, 1942 and attended Falfurrias High School. He proudly joined the United States Marine Corp to serve his country and traveled the world serving two tours during the Vietnam Era. His rank was SSgt (E6) infantry unit leader where he earned 3 Star Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and 3 Purple Hearts.
Jesus attended Del Mar College. He retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot at the age of 55, and gave many years of dedicated service. He was loved by so many family and friends near and far.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Manuel and Sobeida Garcia; two sisters, Carolina Garcia and Herminia Perez; two brothers, Reynaldo Garcia and Juan Manuel Garcia; and his lil angel girl (poodle), Casey Alexandra, who is now happily sitting on his lap, all whom he loved dearly.
Jesus is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Garcia (Trinidad and Tobago) of 48 years; his beloved daughter, Michele (RN) (Terry); beloved son, Jesus Christopher (Lydia); beloved daughters, Lisa, Elizabeth (Ed) Acosta, and Karen. He was also the proud grandfather to Blake Garcia, Gabrielle Moreno, Christopher Lee Garcia, Brandon Acosta and great-grandfather (Papa) to Landon and Kayleigh Garcia (Blake) all who were very proud of him, love and miss him with all their hearts. He is also survived by one older brother, Albert (Nelda) Garcia.
Our family would like to give great thanks to all of our family here, Trinidad & Tobago and across the world for all their sincere thoughts and prayers. They all loved our father deeply. Also many thanks to the physicians, a 5E night nurse and ICU Nurses who assisted in his delicate care. They offered insight, support, shed some tears and gave many needed hugs.
Public visitation will be from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Full Marine Military Honors. Jesus Rosas Jr. (Ermelinda) will sing the song “Un Dia a La Vez” which is a song our father sang for many family members at their funerals.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Garcia, Brandon Acosta, Terry Shireman, Ricky Perez, Orlando Garcia and Specialist Daniel Carvajal.
