She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Adan Olvera.
She is survived by her beloved children, Alicia Rogers (David), Sandra Valverde-Kirk (Donald "Buddy") and Randi Olvera; precious grandchildren, Sydney Kirk, Matthew Kirk, Ella Grace Rogers, Pecos Clayton, Mickey and Genevieve Spellmann; her loving aunt, Maria Luisa Nieto; numerous dear cousins also survive her.
During her career, Janie worked with disabled children. She touched many children and their families with her gentle care and love for these children. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and quilting. She was a true artist with her quilting. Her beautiful handmade quilts are a testament to her artistry and skill.
Her greatest joy and biggest pride were her children and grandchildren. She raised her children to be strong, loving and caring. They all share her wonderful sense of humor as well.
Janie was ever calm and serene in her Catholic faith. She had a special place in her heart for Our Lady of Guadalupe and Saint Jude. While in good health, she lived life to the fullest. She was always graceful, until God called her home.
Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius
Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery..
