Henry Figueroa Jr.

after a lengthy illness.

Henry, the eldest of three children, was born on March 28, 1970 to Enrique Sr and Criselda Figueroa in Corpus Christi, Texas. Henry graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1988 and went on to study at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. After completing his studies, Henry worked for many years in the medical field.

Henry experienced the ultimate Gen-X childhood. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hanging out with cousins and friends, listening to 80s heavy metal, playing sports (particularly football and cross country running), and attending rock concerts. Henry was an avid Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed an opportunity to discuss anything sports related. He had a passion for photography and loved reminiscing about the old times. Being a father was Henry’s greatest achievement. He relished being a grandfather and treasured spending time with his two grandchildren.

Henry is survived by his parents Enrique Figueroa Sr and Criselda Figueroa, his daughter, Hope Figueroa, his grandchildren Amelia and Juan Trevino Jr, his sister, Tanya Woods and her husband, Jeremy Woods, his brother, Jacob Figueroa, his nephew, Jay Christian Woods, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Henry is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tomas Sr and Micaela Figueroa, and his maternal grandparents, Servando and Maria Gomez.

Services have been arranged at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 3:00 – 9:00 pm. The Rosary is planned for Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 8:30 am and Interment will follow immediately after.
