He is preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Alice Alcala; his children, Frank (Mandy) Alcala, Jr. of San Benito, Texas; Alma (Danny) Botello of Arlington, Texas; Gilbert (Lisa) Alcala of Corpus Christi, Texas and David (Diana) Alcala, Sr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Herlinda Flores, Rosario Lopez and Nelda Angel.
Francisco served our country in the U.S. Army from December 11, 1950 to 1958. He was honorably discharged as Private First Class. Francisco loved the Dallas Cowboys, he worked for the Corpus Christi State School for numerous years, and did over 20 years of security work.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be David Alcala, Sr., David Alcala, Jr., Daniel Alcala, Danny Botello, Sr., Daniel Botello, Jr., Jacob Botello, and Isaac Alcala.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Visitation will resume Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Family First Church at 1525 Morgan Avenue at 1:30 p.m. with funeral service to begin at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Ely Perez will officiate the services. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with military honors.
