Eva was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be remembered for her love of novelas and enjoyed the simple pleasure, a cup of "coffecito." Her family brought her happiness especially watching her grandchildren grow. She had an eye for a good home decoration and loved to decorate her home and coffee tables. While raising her children, her favorite pastime was to create a masterpiece by her hands while crocheting.
She is reunited with her beloved husband, Walter "Homer" Burgess; her daughter, Lisa Cantu; her parents; brothers, Thomas Teneyuque, Adam Teneyuque, Oscar Teneyuque, Joe Teneyuque Jr; and her sister, Rita Teneyuque.
Eva leaves to cherish her memories to her children, Ruben Cantu Jr.; George T. Cantu (Alicia), Roxane T. Williams (Dustin); step-daughters, Terri Montgomery (Terry), Donna Conley (Michael), and Victoria Bazile; she is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Christopher Ruben Cantu, Audrei M. Cantu (Mo Dutt), Brandon G. Cantu (Belen), Celeste B. Cantu, Allison E. Suarez (Charlie), Jonathan D. Kern, Sylus D. Williams, and Quyntan T. Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Arjun Dutt, Avani Dutt, Anjalie Dutt, Isabella Cantu, Nythanyl Cantu, Julian C. Suarez, Mason A. Suarez, and Dylan G. Suarez; and sisters, Delores Scott and Inez Gutierrez.
A visitation for Eva will be held at 9 AM on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 10 AM. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
