She was born in Benavides, Texas and went to middle school and high school in Corpus Christi. She is a graduate of Roy Miller High School - 1962. She was a retiree of 30 years from Southwestern Bell (AT&T).
Eudelia was a cancer survivor for over 4 years. She showed strength, compassion, and faith. She was a pioneer and a role model to the women in her family and those that new her well. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her smile and inspiration will live on in our memories and our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Julia Serrato Palacios; her father Abraham Deleon Garcia and her brother Alfred Palacios.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son Kenneth Soto(Diana); grandchildren, Marisa, Andrea, and Kenneth Estevan; her siblings; Ricardo Serrato Garcia, Gilbert (Belinda) Palacios, Grace Palacios Dickey, Leo (Evelyn) Palacios, Sylvia Palacios Benitez, Rene Palacios, Debbie Palacios Hernandez, and David (Angelita) Palacios. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Altus Hospice especially her nurse and case manager Valerie Vega. As well as Caring Senior Services - Grace Deviney, Patsy Mitchell, Mary Garza, Michelle Cantu, Patsy Clark, and Gabrielle Bradshaw. Most importantly thank you to her cousin, Irma Carabajal who grew up with her and was with her day and night over the past year. Both of you were the real Lucy and Etheyl that had us laughing at your antics. We could not have done it without you.
