Edmundo Mireles passed away on February 4, 2012 at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 19, 1925 in Falfurrias, Texas to Juan and Eva Mireles. Edmundo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was an Army Veteran, WWII POW. Edmundo worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for over 16 years. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eloy Mireles; sisters, Edna Flores, Elma Resendez and Elsa Ciminelli.
Edmundo is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Bertha G. Mireles; sons, Edmundo (Marina) Mireles, Jr., Rick (Elva) Mireles, Eduardo (Tina) Mireles from San Antonio, Texas, Eli (Yolanda) Mireles from Belton, Texas; daughter, Gloria (Elizardo) Ruiz from Sugarland, Texas; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his brother, Emede (Jesusa) Mireles from Houston, Texas; two sisters, Elda (Juan) Garza and Ella (Enrique) Longoria both from San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
The family will be receiving family and friends from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2012 at Funeraria del Angel- Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
