She was born on December 22, 1943 to the late Cleotilde Caballero and Manuel Flores. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Dora grew up here in Corpus Christi, where she was a cheerleader at Ella Barnes Jr High. She married at a young age to her first husband, Jose Eleno Perez Sr, and together they had 9 children. She was widowed in 1975 and was left to raise her children alone. She always credited the Lord for getting her by. She was known as a devout catholic who made it a point to pray daily for everyone she loved.
In 1995 she married Leonardo Vasquez and gained 12 stepchildren who she loved dearly. She was a foster mother to several children throughout the years and also became momma Dora and Grandma Dora to her children and grandchildren's friends who she loved unconditionally.
Throughout her lifetime she worked many jobs, but, her years spent working at Billy Pugh along side her family were definitely her most memorable. Dora had a heart of gold and gratitude. Her loving and caring spirit is something she passed down to each of her children, all of which lovingly cared for her for the almost 9 years as she battled Dementia.
Dora is reunited in death with her parents, her spouses, grandson Joshua Perez, granddaughter Aleena Escobar; great grandsons, Isaac & Isaiah Perez; sisters Celia Mendez, Consuelo Reyna, Lupe Perez, Lucrecia Longoria, and brother Albert Caballero.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Jose Eleno Perez Jr (Angie), Andy Perez Sr (Norma), Norma Bernal (Baltazar), Jerry Perez (Elena), Sylvia Perez, Dora Flores (Danny), Cyndi Escobar (Alonzo), Randy Perez, and Julie Canales. Twelve step children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
