Catalina De Leon Morales, 98, a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on September 27, 2024. She was born on April 7, 1926, in Taft, Texas, to Lino and Felicitas De Leon. Catalina's life was shaped by the strong family values instilled in her, which she carried into her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. On June 1, 1947, Catalina married the love of her life, Agapito Z. Morales. Throughout their years together, she dedicated herself to her family as a loving housewife. Catalina found joy and strength in tending to her garden, especially her cherished rose bushes. Known for her kind and generous nature, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to others, especially her family. She had a love for barbacoa tacos with "aguacate", bean and cheese tacos, and her favorite drink, Dr. Pepper, which brought her joy throughout her life. Catalina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Agapito Z. Morales, and her daughter, Rosalinda M. Hernandez. She leaves behind her children, Jose A. (Rosa) Morales, Anna M. Neal, Grace D. Morales, and Jesse D. Morales, along with her many adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Catalina will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel Corpus Christi, 549 Cheyenne St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. A Holy Rosary will be recited Monday, October 7, 2024 at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, 1101 Bloomington St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78416. Burial will follow immediately after Mass at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered love and support. A special note of gratitude goes to Grace D. Morales for her unwavering care of Catalina, providing around-the-clock attention and love in her final years.
Catalina will be remembered for the love she shared, her generous spirit, and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
