He was born on July 22,1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Mathis High School and earned an associate's degree in petroleum engineering from Bee County College.
Brian enjoyed a successful career in the oil and gas industry, starting his
career in the late 1970s as an independent consultant. He continued in the oil industry in the 80’s with Pennzoil/Devon, and worked there for 30-plus years. For the last 6 years Brian worked at Duke Controls, Inc. in Corpus Christi.
Brian was passionate about nature and thoroughly enjoyed deer hunting with his hunting buddies. Any free time he had, he would head to Johnson City to spend time outdoors filling deer feeders and waiting for hunting season to arrive.
Brian is survived by his son, Tyler Morris of Lubbock, sister Kathe Morris Balusek (Tommy) of Cat Spring, brother Lynn Morris (Hailee) of Austin, brother Stewart Morris of Corpus Christi, sister Debby Williams of Lakeland, FL, stepmom Mary Ann Morris of Corpus Christi, and stepdad Jimmy Darby of Corpus Christi as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Morris-Darby, and father, Joseph S. Morris.
Brian was present in so many different parts of our lives that his absence will leave gaps and grief for all of us.
As we continue, we will remember him in a life well lived and honor his legacy
of unapologetically big, being kind, and helping others wherever it may be needed.

A formal celebration of life will be held at a later date.
