Bill McClanahan passed away July 6, 2014. He was born on October 21, 1925 in Edna, Texas to C.J. and Fannie Pearce McClanahan.
Bill was raised in LaWard, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He married Viola Wiese in 1947 and moved to Corpus Christi in 1953.
He was preceded in death by his wife Viola, his parents, three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his children, Diana McClanahan DeFrancesco (Edward) of Bryan, Texas and Billy McClanahan (Jeanne ) of Corpus Christi; grandchildren John (Jodie) DeFrancesco of Dickinson, Texas, Philip (Tracy) DeFrancesco of Portland, Kyle McClanahan of Dallas and Courtney McClanahan (James) Sorce of Cypress, Texas. He is also survived by his sister Ethel McClanahan Ellington, age 100, of Cleveland, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
