Betty L Maroney

She graduated from Center Point High School in 1950, University of Corpus Christi with a BS degree in 1957, and Corpus Christi State University with a MA in 1976.

She married Kenneth Maroney her husband of 64 years on December 22, 1951.

Betty was very active professionally serving with Delta Kappa Gamma, Chairman of the AAUW Bookfinders, State President of the Accreditation Committee of Texas Association of Baptist Schools, and President of Bay Area Association of Early Childhood. She impacted the lives of thousands of students as the Principal of Parkdale Baptist School for 30 years and Principal of First Baptist School for 8 years.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family above all else on earth. She delighted in her 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Betty exuded her beautiful spirit of faith in our savior Jesus Christ to all who knew her.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, and her sister Janice Floyd.

She is survived by her sons Mark (Betsy), and Dave (Joan), grandchildren Nico (Danielle) Ojeda, Ryan (Lauren) Ojeda, Erica (Marc) LaHood, Ross Maroney, Courtney (Cameron) Byas, Daniel Urban, and great grandchildren Emily LaHood, Zeke LaHood, Adara LaHood, Myla LaHood, Ashton Ojeda, Parker Ojeda, Mia Ojeda, Gabriella Ojeda, Riley Vicha, Marek Vicha, and caretaker Deborah Freeman.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church Corpus Christi at 2 pm on Saturday, November 11th with reception afterward in the church parlor.
