Marcia was born August 22, 1940 in Bristol, England. She witnessed the German bombings of her British homeland and in 1949 immigrated with her family to New Jersey. She became a nurse working in Princeton, New Jersey where she met her future husband, Hal. They moved to Southern California where they were married and raised their children in Costa Mesa over the next 44 years. Marcia was active in their church, St. John the Baptist, its parish and its school. She was secretary to Sr. Vianney (Principal) for many years and was President of the School Auxiliary for two terms. Marcia and Hal relocated to North Carolina in 2009.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hal; daughter Heather Russell, her husband Chris and their children Emily and Riley of Whitsett, North Carolina; and son Brian, his wife Jacquie, and their children Chloe, Sydney and Brady of Laguna Beach, California. She is also survived by three sisters and a brother, Sue Arnone (Joe), Lorraine Logue (Joe), Gerry Bonafede (Rick) and Marty Lanzoni.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, June 8, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Costa Mesa, followed by a graveside service at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
