Lawrence Lo (羅延俊) was born on January 12, 1954 to Carl Lo and Josephine Tao as the youngest of three children. At the age of 2, Lawrence and his family immigrated to Taiwan where his father took a job in the banking industry. When Lawrence finished primary school in Taiwan, his parents sent him and his brother Michael back to Hong Kong to continue their education where they lived with their grandparents. During this time, Lawrence enjoyed the great company of relatives, uncles and cousins which would remain as some of his fondest memories to date. At the age of 17, Lawrence immigrated to Kingston, Ontario where he attended a local high school. He studied hard and was admitted to the University of Toronto where he completed his undergraduate and medical degree.
To countless patients, Lawrence was a trusted doctor; to many, he was a beloved friend; to us, he was our everything- an incredibly caring, exceptionally kind-hearted, gracious and loving husband & father, the rock of our family. His beautiful soul was stolen from us much too soon, and we are unspeakably devastated and heartbroken by his sudden absence.
Lawrence was truly a gentle and welcoming spirit. He had a genuine goodness to him that was so apparent it was felt by strangers and family alike, a kindness that you could feel from across the room. He dedicated his entire life to helping others and was a great physician and an even greater human being who was so loved and admired by his family, friends, staff, patients and colleagues. In his spare time, he loved music, playing tennis, traveling and trying new and exotic foods.
Lawrence impacted all of our lives for the better, and in that way he is still here. The planet has absolutely lost a wonderful part of its energy, but the universe has not. He deserves to be beautifully commemorated and remembered. We will remember, deeply miss and love him always and forever, everyday for the rest of our lives.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Alice, son Justin, daughter Megan and puppy Louis.
