傅世卿
August 22, 1947 - December 6, 2024
Dr. Keith Shih-Ching Fu was born in Zhongli, Taiwan to his parents, Edmund (傅遠達) and Sai Jin Fu (傅賽珍). He was the oldest of four siblings, and is survived by his sister Zui Shiang (Zuiko) Wang, and his brothers, Howard (Seigo) Fu and Victor (Seibun) Fu. After graduating from medical school from National Taiwan University, he and his future wife Irene Yi-Ying Lee immigrated to the United States in 1973. They first arrived in Omaha, Nebraska, where he attended Creighton University for one year. They then moved to Pittsburgh, PA for his medical residency, where he was able to live near his two uncles and their families. While in Pittsburgh, he married his wife, Irene, in May of 1974, and they had their daughter, Joyce, in 1977. After completing medical training in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1979, where he worked as an internal medicine physician at Kaiser for nearly 30 years. Their son, Henry, was born in 1979 in Cleveland. He made many long-lasting friendships through the Taiwanese community there. Our families grew up, played tennis, and vacationed together through the years. After retiring from Kaiser, he moved to Arcadia, California to be closer to family. He continued to work part time at a community clinic for several more years, then eventually fully retired at age 70, and moved to Irvine, California. In Irvine, he was lucky to live near so many relatives and friends (many of whom had been long-time friends in Cleveland). He is survived by his wife (Irene), two children (Joyce and Henry), and five grandchildren (Gabriel, Arianna, Caleb, Dylan, and Kristen).
Keith will be remembered for being a kind and gentle man, with a good sense of humor. He loved spending time with his friends and family — playing tennis and golf, traveling, and enjoying good food. He loved to sing and play piano, and in his retired years, joined a chorus in Irvine. In his final days, we know he was so happy to have so many friends and family visit him and surround him with their love, just as he surrounded us with his love.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Keith will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pacific View Mortuary Legacy Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, California 92625. Graveside Service to follow in the Newport Vista Garden at Pacific View Memorial Park.
