Anthony "Tony" Lekas

A private family burial will be held graveside at PACIFIC VIEW (Magnolia Court) on November 22, 2019, at 11:00 AM. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at a later date.

Tony was born in Los Angeles on November 3, 1942, to Gus and Sophie Lekas. He grew up in Pasadena, CA, where he attended PHS and PCC. He graduated from LA State (CSLA) and joined the National Guard where he served for six years.

In 1968 Tony married the "girl next door," Karin Robertson, a love story that lasted 51 amazing years. His first job with CF Braun took them to Edmonton, Alberta, where they lived for two years and their first son Erik was born.

A move back to the States brought him to Irvine where he and Karin welcomed their second son Mark and where Tony began his 39 year career at Fluor. His work with Fluor took him all over the world, from Amsterdam to Singapore to various stops in South America and many other places too numerous to mention. In each location he helped to build refineries and, most important, friendships.

Back at home, Tony volunteered to be the Treasurer for the Woodbridge Warrior Athletic Booster Club for 8 years, a job he loved! During his sons' high school years, he could always be seen in the stands, cheering them on in football and basketball.

Tony is survived by his wife Karin, his sons Erik and Mark, along with Erik's girlfriend Jennifer Serota and Mark's wife Kara Witalis and grandsons Robert (Bob) and Theodore (Teddy) Lekas. Tony loved being their Papou!

He is also survived by Karin’s brother and sister-in-law John and Debbie Robertson, niece Dawn Robertson and her fiancé Daniel, as well as many adoring cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Cathy, as well as Karin's parents and sister Annie.

Tony always, always, ALWAYS wanted people to be happy, so in his name we will celebrate and rejoice in the life he lived so well, but we will forever miss his KIND and gentle soul.

Life is life, Tony, but it can really hurt at times...
