BIRO, Ted (Tibor) passed away tragically, while exploring the Hatfield & McCoy Trails, in the Appalachian Mountains, West Virginia on Friday April 29, 2022. Ted was 67 years of age. He joins his wife, late Kathleen (neé Tait) Biro and his parents Tibor and Elizabeth (neé Veregi) Biro.
Ted was the cherished father of Suzzanne Biro of Cornwall and Kristina (Darren) Biro-Pankratz of Chilliwack, BC and proud grandfather of Jameson King.
He leaves behind his loving partner Sylvie Sabourin and her son Danial, his brothers Robert (Linda) Biro of Gilmour, ON and Joe (Viera) Biro of Maxwell, ON. And his in-laws Linda (Kevin) Piper and James (Katz) Tait both of Laval, QC. Ted will be greatly missed by his many special nephews, nieces and friends.
Ted had a 33 year career as an RCMP Officer, and served in Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia and Cornwall, Ontario. He had a passion for life, and lived every moment to its fullest. He loved an outdoor adventure and challenged himself with a hike to Everest base camp, and reached the peak of Kilimanjaro with Suzzanne.
In the winters, he was often snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and on occasion shoveling snow off the roof of the cottage. In the summers, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, canoe trips, and tending to what was probably the best flower gardens in town. He hunted, regardless of the weather.
What Ted will likely be missed most for, however, is his relationships. Ted had a way of making everyone around him feel heard, appreciated and welcome. He was a good friend to many, and his heart for others was as large as he was. He never seemed to lack time to give to others, and his positive attitude and big smile always left people feeling better because he was there.
Ted was truly a force of joy. Ted loved to laugh, and took responsibility for more than a few practical jokes over the years. He valued his family above all, and loved fiercely. He will be forever missed and never forgotten. His family implores the people who knew him, to live a little more like Ted.
Family and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Life at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482), on Friday May 27, 2022 from 2pm until 4 pm. The family is planning to celebrate the life Ted lived, and they encourage guests to come dressed in Ted’s favourite colours, orange, reds or something bright.
