Beloved husband of Loretta Besner (née Taillon). Loving father of Robert Besner (Wendy), Vivianne Langford (Randy), Suzanne Blair (Jonathan), Claude Besner, Carole McKee (Danny), Raymond Besner (Patricia) and Jean-Guy Besner (Angela). Treasured grandfather of Shawn Besner (Yvette), Jason Besner (Magdalena Kulczyna), Angèle Barrington (Russell), Karen Langford, Jennifer Haley (Gary), Melissa Major, Alexandra Besner (Matt Girgis), Shane Besner, Bridget Michaud (Eric Trudell), Spencer Besner, and Geneviève Ryan (Patrick). Cherished great-grandfather of 15.

He will be dearly missed by his siblings Jeannette Tyo (late William), Simone Hardy (late Maurice), Lilianne Larose (late Maurice), Claire Goudreault (Lucien) and Marcel Besner (Yvonne).

Predeceased by his parents Léonard Besner and Aurore Besner (née St. Denis); his granddaughter Sarah Langford; and his siblings Cécile Allaire (late Ernest) and Clément Besner (late Estelle).

The family would like extend their gratitude to the staff at Cornwall Community Hospital Janet MacDonnell Pavilion Second Floor, as well as to the staff at Riverdale Terrace for their continued care of their father.

Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH, 20 SEVENTH STREET W, CORNWALL on TUESDAY JANUARY 2, 2023 between the hours of 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM.

A Mass of Christian Funeral will be held at ST THERESE DE LISIEUX CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1304 LISIEUX STREET, CORNWALL, on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2023 at 11:00AM.

Cremation to follow. Innichement at Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and to the Cornwall Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
