I was so sad to hear of Kelly's passing and long struggle. She had a lasting and loving impact on my young life; a beautiful soul. My sincere condolences to Chevy and family.  May God's arms be around you and comfort you. Blessings.

We had a lot of fun with our families growing up on Cumberland.   I was sad when we moved away.  Kelly was always kind and caring and smiling.   When I heard the first time of her cancer it was sad.  But I really thought she would beat it.  Having the memories and love will help get you all through this loss.   My prayers are with you all

This is written after the Celebration of Life which truly was a lovely tribute to Kelly.  Matt and Nick, you made your Mom proud.  I think I needed to see you all, hug you and to say I'm so sorry for your loss before I could write anything. I have many memories over the probably close to 35 years we were neighbors/friends. Some of the memories, mostly including Rick would not be proper to share on this site.  I do however, have a perfect memory that will truly speak to Kelly's kindness and caring.  On the first day of the ice storm so many years ago when we were all out of power, Kelly invited us to come over  to your home as we had no means of heat and you did.  Justin and Natasha were thrilled with a play date that ended up, even better in their minds into a sleep over.  We did not leave until we had use of a generator and our home was warm.  We were not the only ones you took in that night.  This means you and Kelly literally took us in out of the cold and kept us warm and fed. I will cherish this memory and all the others I have of Kelly forever.

I only had 5 short years with you. I only had 3 weeks with you as my mother-in-law, but you were my mother long before that. From the moment you welcomed me into your home, you cared for me like a daughter. 

I miss our drives. I've been thinking about them a lot and didn't realize how many we had taken. We talked so much on our drives. You showed me where you grew up, where you fell in love, and where you raised your boys. You taught me how to look after them and keep them safe. You showed me what I needed to be. I promise to take care of your boys.

Thank you for raising my husband to be a strong, good-hearted person like you. As we start our life together - have children, move into our first house - I know he will be looking for your help. Please protect him from all harm. 

You will be with us through all the milestones of our lives and I appreciate all that you've shared with me to guide me through this.

I was shocked and saddened seeing that beautiful photo of Kelly and reading of her passing.  The photo totally reflects her true nature, always smiling, positive, and friendly. I worked with Kelly during my teaching career, I believe that it was at Central Public. The obituary is accurate, Kelly was wonderful with the students. My condolences for your loss, the world has lost a special soul.

Chevy, Mathieu, Nicholas & family,

In the 8 years that we were neighbours, Kelly was always a happy, thoughtful, fun mom with a tireless energy that my kids adored. We were so lucky back then - our 3 neighbouring homes included 6 young boys, all aged within 2 years of one another. What fun they had! It’s taken me several days since I heard the sad news of Kelly’s passing to reconcile my grief and heartbreak for her loving family with my regret that we lost touch so many years ago. We always think we have time to reach out to those special people that we meet along the way. Rob & I will treasure our memories of those early days, as will Matt, Jon and Josh. Kelly’s smile and infectious laugh made an indelible mark on our hearts.

Kelly was a former colleague and as an Educational Assistant, she was "top-shelf". Conscientious and energetic, Kelly made every effort to know her students as individuals and to meet their needs. But her family always came first, as seen in her boys whom she and Marc raised into two fine young men. Kelly was also a wonderful aunt to my daughter, Micheline.

It was 1989 the summer of weddings Chev and Kelly’s was the first, I was new to the group and Kelly always made me feel like as part of the gang for years .  So much that she was one of my beautiful attendants at my wedding.  We shared so many fun times road trips the four of us on our way to the north Bay weddings , skiing in Vermont or our weekly visits to winners to enjoy some beverages and Monday night football at their first home.  As our families grew and jobs , just life changing we didn’t see each other as much but then all of a sudden at mum’s birthday who drops in around midnight Chev and Kelly .  We laughed , we hugged and the years faded it was like we were all back on Tollgate road .  One of the first people to reach out to us as our parents were on their journeys it was Kelly and Chev with a comforting hug and chicken pot pie.  Kelly is a friend who will always have a special spot in our hearts and memories.. I know if I ever hear Woody Harrelson singing “Kelly, Kelly, Kelly…. I will have a smile and tear for my beautiful friend.

The summers I spent living with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Marc are among the happiest memories of my childhood. Mat, Nic, and I spent our days playing street hockey, swimming in the freezing backyard pool, playing video games, and generally goofing around while Aunt Kelly was always there to keep us fed, safe, happy, and to maximize our fun. While I always felt like "one of the boys" during those stays, I knew that Aunt Kelly was also thrilled to have a girl in the house. She loved to pull me aside to brush my hair, patiently combing through the ratty knots of a girl who loved getting dirty more than she loved to shower. While I'm not sure brushing the hair of that impatient and complaining tomboy truly satisfied any of Aunt Kelly's desire for surrogate "Mother-Daughter" time, I certainly felt her motherly love, patience, and tenderness in those moments just the two of us. As a girl who yearned for brothers (no offence to my sisters) and got to enjoy brotherly love with Aunt Kelly's boys, I never fully understood that yearning for a girl to mother, but now as the mother of a son myself, I have a much deeper understanding and appreciation of that relationship with Aunt Kelly and the motherly love I felt so strongly in her home. Aunt Kelly's home always felt like home to me, and the best kind of home at that; a home where love was easy, abundant, and shared by all. While I moved the farthest away and did not get to spend much time with Aunt Kelly in the last several years, I am so grateful that I got to see her extend that love to my wife Mei and our son Li-en and I will cherish those memories for the rest of my life.
