With his family by his side, Gordon Douglas Robertson passed away peacefully, at the age of 90, on Saturday February 11, 2023 at the Cornwall Community Hospital.
Doug was the cherished husband of Grace Robertson (MacRae) for 65 joyous years. He was the loving father of Debbie Brownlee (Ken) and Dale (Joanne Sproul). Proud grandpa to Cassandra, Cole, Kimb and great grandfather to Kennyn.
Doug was the eldest of six children. Bernard (Lois), the late Garnet (late Gwendolyn), Marvel MacLeod (late John Keith), the late Gwelda Markell (Keith), and Gordon (Mavis).
He was predeceased by his mother Mildred Flanagan (McIntyre), his father Gordon Robertson, and his step-father James Flanagan.
Doug was a proud resident of Avonmore, who lived a long and prosperous life. He always had a smile, a quick wit, and enjoyed good conversation. Doug touched numerous lives, and shared special moments, which resulted in many lifelong memories with extended family and friends.
His legacy will live on forever.

The family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 SEVENTH STREET WEST, CORNWALL on SATURDAY MARCH 4, 2023 from 1:00PM until the Celebration of Life in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 3:00PM.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family, immediately following the service, for a time of lunch and fellowship in the Reception Center of the Funeral Home.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Spring at Paul’s Hill Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Cornwall and District, or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
