JAMES, Charles – The family announces with sorrow his passing on September 9, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Charles “Charlie” is survived by his beloved Jacqueline (née Leger), his devoted and loving wife of 67 years. His son Gary James (Darlena) of Cornwall and his daughters Charlene McLennan (Jack) of Cornwall and Kathy James (Stu) of Cornwall. “Papa” is lovingly remembered by six grandchildren; Amy, Kiley, Joshua, Jordon, Brennan and Jennifer. And four great-grandchildren; Emma, Abby, Christopher and Samuel. Dear brother of Welly (Jackie) of Kelowna, B.C, Kenny (Frances) of Cornwall and Beverly Bowman (Harry) of Cornwall. Predeceased by son Robert “Bobby” of Cornwall. His parents Welland and Kathleen (née Auty) of Cornwall. Brothers; Bill of Kingston, and Ralph (Jackie) of Guelph. Sisters; Margery Larochelle (Fern), Mary Grice (Bud) of Cornwall and Lois Bowman (Claire) of Cornwall. Survived by many nieces and nephews. He was especially proud of his dance band, The Charles James Orchestra and had fond memories of coaching minor hockey and lacrosse. Charlie was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion; Branch 297 and we the family are very thankful for their kindness and generosity. A very special thank you to our Cornwall Community Hospital for their tender care and compassion. We the family are very grateful and touched. Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 and from 9 a.m. until time of Service on Saturday. Funeral Service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Followed by Cremation.
