Celebration of Life for William M. “Bill” Phillips Sr. is set for 2:00 Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Smith officiating. There will be a private family burial at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
Bill Sr. died December 3, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born July 27, 1928 in Alcorn Co. to the late W. T and Ollie Fare Phillips. A graduate of Kossuth High School and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of First Baptist Church of Corinth, MS. He was owner and operator of Phillips Brothers Truck Stop and Motel, Co-owner of Phillips Motors Inc. of Corinth. He loved his wife, family, sports and politics.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Lotta Hopkins; brothers Rev. Harry K Phillips, Thomas Hal Phillips and Rubel L. Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Joan Mills Phillips; daughters Lisa Phillips and Wendy (Deron) Lacy; son Bill (Shelly) Phillips, Jr.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers Bill Phillips Jr., Will Phillips, Beau Wroten, Conner Wroten, Deron lacy, Zane Elliott.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 to service at Frist Baptist Church.
