Rachel Rushing McCollum

Funeral service for Rachel Rushing McCollum 89, are set for 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Union Baptist Church with Bro. Rayburn Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

She died April 4, 2012 at her residence. She was born November 25, 1922 in Alcorn Co. to the late T.R. and Maude Rushing, she was a graduate of Alcorn Agricultural High School, housewife, and member of Union Baptist Church, and serving as Sunday school teacher, enjoyed being a member of the “Golden Agers”. An avid MS. State Fan. Loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death in by her Husband V.A. McCollum, Son Larry McCollum, Parents, grandson Nick Bell, son-in-law Robert Harben, brother Eugene Rushing.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters Sandra Carpenter her husband Charles Jr. of Corinth, MS. Brenda Harben of Guys, TN., Kathy Patrick her husband David of Cherokee, Al. Brother Harold Rushing his wife Jeanette of Corinth, MS. Grandchildren Larry “Chip” McCollum, Charles “Chuck” (Angie) Carpenter III, David (Tanya) Carpenter, Steve (Lundy) Carpenter, Rocky (Jamie) Harben, Tawanda “Sissy” Rickman, Suzanne ( Matt) Byrd, Joseph “Joey” Patrick. 12 Great Grandchildren. Host of family and friends.
