Mary Jo Sheffield

A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Jo Sheffield is set for 12:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.

Mary Jo passed away on December 12, 2023 at Jackson Madison General Hospital in Jackson, TN. She was born on October 19,1953 to the late Billy and Ruth Wilkerson. Mary worked in healthcare as a nurse for most of her adult life. She was always known as a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing, painting, and loved going for walks with her grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary "Mev" Armstrong; daughters, Joanna Denise Pegg and Danielle Sweat.

Mary Jo is survived by her son, Donald Sharp; brother, Terry Wilkerson (Vicki); sisters, Vonda Pearson, Brenda Herndon, Doris Hunt, Cathy Reagan, and Shirley Childers; grandchildren, Lee Pegg (Jessica), Jordan Ross (Jay), Sarah Pegg (Omari) and Finn Sharp; great grandchildren, Bentley Wright, Avalin Pegg, Emma Wright, Case Pegg, Macklan Robinson, and Aiden Wright; and a host of nieces and nephews.
