Lester Leroy Wilbanks

Lester Leroy Wilbanks, 91, of Kossuth, Mississippi passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at The Hospitality House in Iuka, Mississippi. Leroy was born January 1, 1933 to the late Roy T. and Vera Pittman Wilbanks.

Mr. Wilbanks was a devout member of Kossuth Baptist Church. He served his country as a Korean War Veteran for the United States Army. Mr. Wilbanks served his community as a member of the Mississippi Highway Patrol for twenty-nine years until his retirement.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Barbara Shadburn Wilbanks; daughter, Shanda Leigh Wilbanks Albritton; brother Charles Wilbanks; and a nephew Keith Haygood.

Leroy is survived two sisters, Gail Williams (Joe) and Sue Haygood (Dan); Neal Wilbanks (Janie), as well as a host of extended family and friends.

There is a scheduled Graveside Service with Military Honors for Wednesday, November 27, 2024 beginning at twelve o'clock noon at the Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi. Friends and family will meet at the cemetery for his honors. The family has entrusted the care for the arrangements to the staff of McPeters Funeral Directors in Corinth, Mississippi.
