Services for Barbara Gail Bennett, 87, will be held at 2 pm on November 19, 2022 at McPeters Funeral Home with burial to follow at Henry Cemetery. There will be a family and friends gathering from 1 pm until service time.
The biggest Ole Miss fan ever, sadly passed away on November 6, 2022. Gail was born to William Everett Taylor and Marie Petty Taylor Lee on June 12, 1935. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a well-loved member of the community and church at East Corinth Baptist Church. After graduating in 1953 from Corinth High School, she attended NECC, where she was an unstoppable forward in basketball. Gail worked at Wurlitzer as a switchboard operator for 20 years and then retired from Wal-Mart as a phone operator. Until 2008, she lived most of her life in Corinth, then moved in with her granddaughter's family. Gail spent the remainder of her years in Florida enjoying many wonderful, sun-filled days surrounded by family.
She was an avid animal lover and especially talented on the piano, which she often played for her family and church congregation. Her faith and love for the Lord and family was evident throughout her life. She truly did live her life to the fullest of her years and was the best of all of us! Although she is gone from this terrestrial plain, her family are looking forward to being reunited with her in eternity. Gail will live in their hearts and memory until then.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Scott Norman; and brother, Randy Taylor.
Gail is survived by her sons, Roy Scott Norman, Jr. (Linda) and Dwight Everett Norman; grandchildren Melinda Hays, Brad Norman, Picoli Goysich (Matthew), Elaina Zajac (Alex), Michael Knight II (Traci), Joshua Knight and April Knight Alred (Mitchell); great grandchildren, Ian Denney, Aubrie Hanna (Dalton), Kye Norman, Hayle Hays, Samuel Goysich, Evelyn Goysich, Abigail Goysich, Caden Zajac, Elianna Zajac, Caitlin Knight, Bailey Knight, Dorian Alred and Maverick Alred; great great grandchildren, Lylah Hanna and Asher Hanna; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Hinton Taylor.
