Margaret (Peggy to her many friends) was born in Auburn, NY to (Mary Elizabeth Morrisey and Charles Bernard Heverin on June 22, 1933. She was a recognized artist, painter and volunteer before college, She graduated from St. John College in Cleveland, OH with a B.S.N. in 1954 specializing in pediatric nursing. She later taught nursing, enjoying every minute showing others the art and science of patient care. Always eager to be in the action, she volunteered delivering polio vaccines in Cleveland with Dr. Sabin and held a heart in her hands while assisting a cardiac surgery as a nursing student. She spoke often of the thrill of being in the healthcare action and making a difference. She was fearless and creative in all her pursuits. Saving her lunch money in her first few years of her nursing career she traveled to Ireland for a trip of a lifetime as an eager adventurer. It was there she got the bug to travel and explore the world. She made the “Nurse and Navy man” perfect couple with Michael Maloy Faul whom she wed on February 15, 1958 in Cleveland, OH on a snowy and blustery day in a wedding gown she made herself that has stood the style test of time. Jumping into the car after the ceremony to New York City for their honeymoon, they looked like a Hollywood couple as attractive as any!
Her beloved husband , Michael Faul graduated from John Carroll University and spent the first 35 years of his career as a trucking executive through the 1980’s, while Peggy spent many of those years dedicated to raising their six children and organizing many house and city moves. Peggy returned to her loved nursing profession in the 1980’s as Mike entered Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctorate, from Syracuse University, becoming a well loved lawyer and Judge. Together they were always active in their local churches, making St. Francis in Phelps, NY their local parish for 30 years until retiring to Florida to be closer to two of their daughters.
Mike and Peggy enjoyed many years in Florida and Peggy began her love of painting again, sharing numerous paintings with family and friends which are treasures to many. Peggy was active at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Coral Springs for many years before she became unable to attend. She often took an Uber (learning her iPhone at 80 years old) so she could attend her daily mass after giving up driving a few years prior.
Peggy was well loved at her local parishes, always served her Lord through religious education and as a eucharistic minister for many years. She and her husband of 60 years, Mike, traveled the world and found themselves stranded with good friends in the Mediterranean during a cruise when the horrific and tragic events of 9/11 occurred, this offered them extra time to explore Barcelona and talk about their cruise of a lifetime for their remaining years!
