Lindola Marie Milton Rigg, 73, resident of North Lauderdale, FL entered into eternal rest on May 6, 2024. She leaves behind children Donald Tennyson Rigg, Jr. (Christina Gray-Rigg) and Shenoah Lindola Rigg, granddaughter Tayler Veronica Rigg, and nieces Heather McLeod and Samantha McLeod who were raised alongside her children. She was the 6th child of Enez McTaggart Milton and Herbert Milton. Lindola was born in Kingston, Jamaica, WI, on April 28, 1951. She is survived by brothers Leo Lamb and Michael Milton and sisters Maple Milton McLeod and Carmen Milton Minott as well as countless other cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her parents and brothers, Keith Milton and Derrick Milton.
Lindola attended Dunrobin High School in Jamaica before emigrating to the US in 1968. She graduated from Benjamin Cardozo High School in New York in 1971.
She lived in Jamaica, Queens, NY, where she met and married her husband Donald Tennyson Rigg Sr., a member of the US Air Force. They were stationed in England and California before she and her children moved to Florida in 1988. Before retiring in 2012, Lindola worked as a Sales Associate with Macy’s (formerly Burdines) and left quite an indelible impression on her customers, who would quickly recognize her wherever they would see her.
Lindola had a green thumb and spent hours in her garden tending to her grass, despite having lost much of her vision a few years ago. Her signature dishes will be missed at family gatherings. She had a great sense of humor and made us laugh even in the most serious situations. We will miss her generosity and kindness to all who crossed paths with her.
A memorial service is being held on Saturday, May 25th, at 11:00 am at the Plantation United Methodist Church. 1001 NW 70th Ave, Plantation. FL 33313.
