He is survived by his sons Brandon and Cameron Ringo, daughter-in-law Nicole, sister Robin Maran, brother-in-law Dr. Antti Maran, brother Chris Ringo, sister-in-law Victoria Ringo and niece Valerie, aunt Brenda Ringo Baumgardner and husband Bill Baumgardner.
His extended family include step mother Bettie Hogue Ringo Phillips and step brothers Mack and Kim Hogue. He was also a proud pawpaw to Gnocchi Jo, Lillie, Charles and Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Ates Ringo, father Dr. Val Ringo, DDS and his brother Paul Ringo.
Brian was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He spent most of his career on the airwaves in Louisiana and Florida as a disc jockey after graduating from broadcasting school.
As an AM/FM program director he was one of the first DJ’s in the country to play songs by artists like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. He also received numerous gold records and plaques for his contributions to the music and radio industries.
His favorite sports teams included the Miami Hurricanes, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Marlins. He was also an avid fan of the Allman Brothers Band, Steely Dan and Widespread Panic.
Brian was a kind, loving, God-fearing man who was baptized in the Ouachita River by his friend and spiritual mentor Phil Robertson and was a member of White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ and later Fair Park Baptist Church.
Kraeer Funeral Home in Coral Springs is assisting the family with funeral arrangements, with a memorial to be followed in West Monroe.
Brian will be missed dearly by his family, but the love and kindness he shared will be remembered and appreciated forever.
