Mary Ellen Jones

Mary Ellen Jones of Copperas Cove, TX passed away on February 24, 2024 in Gatesville. With her typical tenacity she fiercely fought and overcame many illnesses and challenges the last decade of her life. Her tiny body could not succeed in this last battle though she bravely tried and as typical, lasted longer than her medical professionals predicted. She died peacefully with family at her side on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We take comfort in the fact she is now among friends, family, and her pets in heaven, no longer in pain or mental anguish though we all miss her terribly already.

Mary Ellen was born December 17, 1946 in Punta Gorda, Florida, the only child of Warren and Ellen (Kenefick) Edwards. She married Bill Jones, Jr August 19, 1981 in Port Charlotte, FL. Mary Ellen and Bill worked together in real estate before both becoming LVNs and working in various medical facilities over the course of their marriage. They were inseparable and eventually moved to Texas once Mary Ellen retired. She loved gardening, crafting, reading, travel, and the beach but most of all her beloved Billy and rest of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Ellen Edwards.

Survivors include her husband Bill Jones, Jr; daughter Liz (Bill) Stover of Copperas Cove, TX; daughter Lisa (Tom) Kosterman of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren Angela Stover, Andrea Stover, Joshua (Lisa) Stover, Takara Stover, John (Taylor) Robson; great-grandchildren Manny, Meloni, Emily, Eli, Ford, Trintie, and Isaia. She is also survived by many cousins in Florida and across the country who will miss her sweet smile.
