Lester was born on April 9, 1948, in Paterson, New Jersey to parents Lester G Pugh SR and Kathleen Gillen.
Butch joined the Marines Corp in March of 1966 when he was only 17 years old and proudly served in Vietnam. Butch returned home and still served in the Marine Corps Reserves until he joined the US Army and served until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, music and spending time and taking care of his family. He was a devoted Catholic and very proud American!
He is survived by his loving wife, Jadwiga of over 50 years, daughters; Shane Pugh-Wilson of Lampasas, Natalie Kielpinski and husband Anthony Kielpinski of Copperas Cove, son; Les G Pugh II and wife Crystal. Grand children; Hunter Wilson, Austin Wilson, Bethany Pugh, Olivia Pugh, Avery Pugh, Nathaniel Kielpinski and three sisters; Teresa Barr, Darlene Clark and Kathleen Crank and husband Grove Crank, sister in laws; Irene Ackley and Tanya Wojan from Florida, cousins: Jimmy Perry from California and Cheryl Perry from Florida, nieces and nephews from Florida, California and Illinois. He is preceded in death by his brother; William Pugh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2023 with Father Jenkins from Ohio in the chapel of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be on Wednesday August 30, 2023, at 5:00 PM with visitation starting from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on August 31, 2023, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas starting at 10:00 AM where he will be receiving Full Military Honors.
