Joe was born in Mexico, Missouri on February 23, 1948 to John and Virginia Fox, and was raised by Opal and Jewel Ray on their farm home in Palmyra, Missouri.
He met his wife, Patricia, on a blind date, and they were married six weeks later.
Joe served in the United States Air Force for 24 years. His travels took him all over the United States and to several countries overseas, where he was able to start a family of his own when he and Pat adopted three children from the Philippines over two tours.
He gained an Associates degree from Linn Technical College and an additional Associates from Central Texas College. Post military service, he also worked in the maintenance department for the City of Copperas Cove for 27 years.
Joe was above all, a devoted family man who not only protected and provided for his own children, but also opened his home and welcomed in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Mae, his daughter Kimberly Ann Brock of Copperas Cove, his son Kevin Andrew Fox of Austin, Texas. His three grandchildren, Brittany Fox, Miles Brock, and Hudson Fox. His three great-grandchildren, Ruben McCurtain, Dalilah McCurtain, and Natalie McCurtain. And a sister, Barbara Patterson of Palmyra, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a member of the Copperas Cove Church of Christ.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and foster parents. He is also preceded in death by his son, Gregory Alan Fox, and his three sisters, Patsy Wieland, Dorothy Montano, and Mary Garner.
A Visitation at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home for Joseph will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service for Joseph will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 12:00 PM followed by the Graveside Service at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, Texas.
He was greatly cherished in life and will be terribly missed.
