Luis is an army veteran who was drafted in 1970 and stationed in Korea. Stateside, at the age of 24, he married Marina, affectionately called “Sugar”. In 1979, he left for Houston with a dream, his wife and their three children. After 11 years he settled his family in Flower Mound.
Luis has an immeasurable love for family, especially his granddaughters. He was extremely proud to have raised a compassionate, supportive, loving, close connected family. Luis offered tough love, but was quick to respond in your time of need. He was outspoken and could initiate conversations with anyone.
There was no bigger fan of the Oakland Raiders. He loved sports in general but also enjoyed fishing, camping and family game night. He was often quick with a joke and loved to reminisce about his baseball coaching days and trips to Ruidoso.
As a husband, father, and papa, he will be missed immensely and will forever be in our hearts!
Luis is survived by his wife, Marina Luna, son Luis Emilio Luna III and wife Hannah Luna, son Gilbert Luna, daughter Sarah Luna and husband Richard Salas, granddaughters Alexus Luna and Harper Luna.
Also survived by siblings, nieces, and nephews.
