Lawrence Marvin Sterrett, better known as Larry, was born June 20, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas to Marvin and Lillian Sterrett. Marvin was career Air Force, so he traveled from Wichita, Kansas to Singapore and then to Virginia, New Mexico, Hawaii and finally to Austin, Texas where he graduated from High School and joined the Navy. He was a Sea Bee in the Navy and worked on heavy equipment.
He was married three times and leaves behind a son by his first marriage, Michael Lee Sterrett. By trade he was an ASE Certified Mechanic and has worked at several automotive repair shops in Austin and even opened up his own shop for a short time. He loved riding his motorcycle touring the Hill Country of Texas, always stopping for tacos and beer when the opportunity presented itself.
He is also survived by two sisters, Jan Sterrett, and Bobbie Yoshimoto along with Bobbie’s children Tammy Fagler and Brian Yoshimoto.
He will be cremated and laid to rest at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery June 7, 2024
