Jim was born December 11, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edwin Earl Pease and Nancy E. Bohlander Pease. He grew up in Tulsa along with his two brothers, Alan and Harold. His love of learning led him to the University of Tulsa where he received his degree in engineering. Jim spent many years as a petroleum engineer for Amoco, where he traveled to numerous countries. In addition to travel, Jim loved cooking, flying and classical music. He was also an avid golfer and tennis player.
Aptly, Jim met the love of his life, Elizabeth, on the tennis courts. They married on January 15, 1983, creating a wonderful, blended family of 6 children. Soon after they wed, Jim’s job with Amoco took them to London, England, where the family enjoyed their time as “expats” - fully embracing the culture, music and cherished friends they met abroad.
Prior to moving to Dallas, the Peases resided in Houston and Lake Conroe. Wherever they lived, Jim was actively involved in the arts and local community. From ushering at church services, to volunteering as a poll worker, to serving on boards and committees, Jim enjoyed serving others. While most might consider him quiet, he definitely loved a party, hosting events and the chaos of our large family gatherings.
Jim is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, children Jeri (Pat) Donais, Ginger (Joel) Richman, Jeff Pease, Hallye (Joe) Terrell, Hillary (Kevin) Gorman, Ryan (Adriana Gaviria) Buck, 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 at 3:00pm at Highland Park United Methodist Church, with Reverend Linda Roby officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider supporting the Southwestern Medical Foundation by visiting swmedical.org/give. The family would like to thank the incredible staff at UT Southwestern for their care and compassion during Jim’s battle with pancreatic cancer.
