Virginia was born in Queens to her late parents, Frank and Eva Wohlmacher. She was raised in Ridgewood, Queens, attended P.S.153 Elementary School and graduated from Grover Cleveland H. S. She met her future husband, George Kuhn through his sister Madeline, who was a very good friend of hers. They married in 1948 and made their home in Copiague.
Virginia is remembered by her family as a woman who stayed at home to raise her children and care for her home. She enjoyed babies, baking, knitting, going to church, and was a very loving grandma to her many grandkids, as well as great grandchildren.
Predeceasing Virginia is her husband George and their sons Brian J. Kuhn and Vincent Kuhn. She is survived by her children - her son, Thomas and daughter-in-law Kathie; her son, Edward and daughter-in-law Cheryl; her daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Ron Padilla; her son, Kevin; her daughter, Nora; her daughter, Melissa and son-in-law Joe Collora; and her son, Matthew. Also surviving are her grandchildren - Christine, Lisa, Michelle, Jonathan, Karianne, Jennie, Michael, Rebecca, Hailey, Steven, Eric, Laurie, Tommy, Alicia, Noreen, Amy and Stephanie.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4:00 - 9:30 p.m. During the visitation at 8:00 p.m., the Catholic Wake Service will be offered by Deacon Michael of Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church of Copiague. On Monday morning at 9:45 a.m., the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church, and interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
