Mr. Besemer, a long-time resident of Lindenhurst, L.I., passed on Saturday, December 19th at the age of 69 years.
Mr. Besemer was retired from a career with the Copiague Public Schools; and served as a devoted member of the Copiague Fire Department.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Joanne, and his father, Richard J. Besemer. Surviving are his children, his sons - John and daughter-in-law Aeronwy; and David; his mother, Gertrude Besemer, and his siblings - Susan DiGennaro, James Besemer, Diane Besemer and Barry Besemer.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 pm for visitation. During the evening hours, the Wake Service and Firematic Services will be offered at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Phil Mills and the Copiague Fire Department. Interment will take place on Wednesday, December 23rd at 10:45 a.m. at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. All will gather on Wednesday morning by 10:00 a.m. We will depart for the cemetery by 10:30 a.m.

Entrance to the funeral home is by the REAR entrance only, the front, main entrance is currently closed. There is a 35-visitor limit at any time. In order to secure this count, upon entering the funeral home you will receive an entry ticket, which you will surrender upon your exit. We ask for your understanding during this time. Please limit your time in the funeral home and refrain from shaking hands or hugging. Hand sanitizer is available. If you are sick, or have been exposed to someone who is, you are not permitted inside the building to visit.
