She was the beloved widow of Frank "Chick", the devoted mother of Stephen (Donna) and Frank (Diana) and the cherished grandmother of Kevin, Bryan (Elena), Brianna, Matthew, Meagan, Nicholas, and Jonathan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Felicia Vollmer and her brother-in law John Kimick; her nieces Chrystal and Gina (God-daughter) and her brother, Frank Sinacori (Madeline). Ninette was predeceased by the love of her life of 61 years, Chick (Frank) and loving parents, Providence and Vincenzo.
Nina was the sweetest, funniest, and kindest woman. She loved her husband Frank, as they were together since their teens and married very young. They worked together everyday in Queens with Excel Printing and then out on Long Island at Talon Graphics in Seaford. Nina loved to talk to all of her customers and help Frank with printing jobs.
Nina adored her 7 grandchildren and talked about them to anyone she met, always ready to show a photo or brag about a new life event. She loved her sons and daughter-in-laws, she enjoyed spending time with them at various family events or just catching up during meals with family and friends. She loved every party and looked forward to weddings and showers in the family as well. We always thought she should have been an event coordinator.
In the last few years since Frank's passing, Nina was a resident at Amber Court of Westbury, where she happily spent her time with her new friends and aides. She made special relationships with aides, even having nicknames (Ninetta) given to her by them. She loved playing the daily "Perk," a crossword puzzle, penny bingo and attending all the fun events in the rec room. She ended her days with evening snack time, talking with her friends over coffee and cookies.
Nina will always be remembered for her spunky personality, she loved to make anyone laugh - especially her grandchildren. She always loved to go out to eat - either a steak or a plate of mussels were her "go to meals"- although "A diner is a diner" was one of her favorite sayings. She will be missed immensely by her family and friends but we know that Frank has welcomed her with open arms. It is with our certainty, following their reunited embrace, Nina got to work sprinkling her love and light on the clouds. She is now coordinating the event of her lifetime. Nina's Grand Eternal Homecoming Gala.
Please honor her with your memories. Forever in our hearts, she will be.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home for visitation on Thursday, October 24th from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 25th at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Copiague. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
In remembrance of Nina's life, the family is requesting that any charitable donations be made to an organization close to her heart.
