Elizabeth was born in Brooklyn to her late parents, Paul and Mary Rotondo. She was raised in Massapequa and graduated from Massapequa High School. In her early years of work she worked for Equitable Life Insurance Company as an administrative assistant to the Vice President. She met her future husband, Andrew DePaolo, in 1969 at a family going away party for him before his deployment to Vietnam.
They married in 1970 and settled into their home in Amity Harbor where they raised their family. In later years, Elizabeth worked for the Copiague School District in the Food Service Department where she met so many friends and enjoyed seeing all of her kids’ friends on a daily basis. She retired as Head Cafeteria Aide after 28 years of service.
Surviving is her beloved family – her husband, Andrew; her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Amber DePaolo, her daughter Stephanie, and Brian Gover; and her grandchildren – Sydney and Taylor DePaolo and Ryan, Sarah and Colin Gover.
Elizabeth cherished spending time with family and friends. She and Andrew enjoyed the beach, boating, and a good cup of coffee sitting by the water. She was our family rock through good times and bad. She will be missed and remembered by all.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, October 7th from 2:00 – 4:30 and 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. for visitation. On Friday, the Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in Amityville. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
