Mrs. Gribbin was born in Queens. She met her love, her "boy next door", John J. Gribbin, and they married in 1948. They bought their home in Copiague, and here is where they raised their family. While John worked, Carol took care of their children. As the children grew, Carol worked for a time in a local shirt factory close to her children's schools. Later, she worked as an Aide in the Daniel Street School in Lindenhurst. Here is where she loved to be - taking care of the children. She was an old movie buff, enjoying works of John Wayne and Frank Sinatra. Carol loved playing Lotto, always hoping for a great outcome of her favorite number, "327".
Her beloved husband, John, passed in January of this year. Surviving are her children - Janice, Linda Burket and son-in-law, Douglas; Richard and daughter-in-law, Catherine; and Timothy and daughter-in-law, Mary. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren - Kerry (Kevin), Shawn, Kristin (Steve), Jason, Kyle, Tyler, Ryan, Rachel, Amanda, T.J., Emily, Tina (Pete), Ricky and Brian (Amy); and her great-grandchildren, Dean, Megan, Colby, Carley, Petey, Emma, Mya and Jack.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Service, with personal eulogies, will be offered that evening at 8:30 p.m. Cremation will be private.
