Mr. Arthur M. Schneider, a long-time resident of Copiague, L.I., died December 31, 2014.
Mr. Schneider was born in Queens County, and raised in St. Albans. He was a proud veteran, having served with the United States Coast Guard. In his work, he was first retired from many years as an Inspector for the N.Y. Fire Underwriters; and then served as Bay Constable for the Town of Babylon. Mr. Schneider was Ex-Chief and member of the Copiague Fire Department for over 65 years. He enjoyed being out on the water every chance he got, being an avid boater, fisherman and duck hunter.
Predeceasing him is his beloved wife, Harriet; and is survived by his children - Susan Hever and son-in-law, Michael; and Peter Schneider and daughter-in-law, Maria; and his grandchildren - Dylan Hever, Caitlyn Hever, Justin Schneider and Olivia Schneider.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Saturday evening, from 7-9:30 p.m., and on Sunday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. The Copiague Fire Department will conduct Firematic Services on Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Prayer Service will be offered on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
