Anthony Carl Ricci, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on August 30, 1928, Anthony lived a full and remarkable life, filled with love for his family, pride in his country, and a zest for life that remained strong until his final days.
He was predeceased by his wives, Paula Ricci and Barbara Ricci, and was the cherished father of Anthony Ricci (Cindy), Marguerite Ricci, and Laura Ricci. He was a proud grandfather to Danielle (Michael), Antony (Renee), Nicholas (Kellie), Troy (Abby), Michael, Joseph, and Paul, and a doting great-grandfather to Madeline, Isabella, and Jackson. Anthony also leaves behind his loving siblings, Vera and Gabe, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Salvatore, Ana, Ernest, Angie, Louis, and Rita.
Anthony was a proud and dedicated member of the Teamsters, working for many years as a truck driver. His hardworking nature and perseverance were matched only by his love of family, his passion for sharing stories, and his deep affection for his roots. He lived in his home for over 40 years, a three-story walk-up that he climbed every day, even as he smoked several packs of cigarettes for much of his life. Anthony’s devotion to his family was unwavering, and he cherished his time spent with loved ones, especially his siblings, their spouses, and their children.
In addition to his family, Anthony had a lifelong love of food, particularly mashed potatoes, and he had a special fondness for Atlantic City, where he often spent time with family and friends. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the closing days of World War II, a chapter of his life that he held dear and spoke of with great pride.
A visitation for Anthony will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at D’Andrea Bros. Funeral Home, Copiague, NY , followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
Anthony’s love for his family, his humor, and his stories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace, Anthony.
