Rosemarie, I was just thinking about you and googled your name and Neil’s obit come up. So sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers. Wish I would had stayed in touch with you.

To the Mattson Family:
I don't know what ever posseted me to even search Neal and Rosie Mattson today.  I figure like so many others they had moved on to greener pastures so to say.  I was a bit surprised to see how recently Neil passed.  Any way my condolences to Rosie and Jeff and Janine.  It has been years since I spoke with any of you however I still remember your place off 65, and have thought of you often as I drove past.  I will leave you with a story I still remember hearing about a night or 2 in 1970 when the great bricklayer laid the basement by headlights in the home that has been standing ever since and just was sold by the family a month ago.  My parents home (Bob and Phyllis) , where I grew up.  As I remember the story it was by headlights at night for a case or 2 of beer.   Again sorry for your loss, however thanks for the memories.   

Rosie...
   It has been over 60 years since I have last seen you, (we worked at the Federal Reserve Bank), but when I read the name of Neil Mattson in the obituary column I quickly knew this was your husband.  Although I only met him a couple times my recollection of Neil is that he was a kind and gentle soul and a good steward of the earth.  I bet he was a terrific grandpa.
   Know that God is right beside you, Rosie, and is walking with you and your family on this journey.
   I hope sometime we can meet up for lunch or something.  I'm in Ramsey so not far away.

A Father’s Day memory
We shared many Fathers Day brunches at Jack and Jims. 

My sweet father in law. A quiet man unless you got him reminiscing about his younger days. He had so many stories and was a great story teller. I loved to hear him talk about his work and the buildings he worked on or stories about courting Rosemarie, and stories about their young family back in the day. I loved hearing about how much he enjoyed watching Jeff play softball and how his eyes would light up when he shared stories about his grandkids. So many stories shared around the kitchen table. I loved how he loved to be sitting out in his chair in the garage and wave to people as they went by. In the warm months he was always out there in his chair waiting on our arrival when he knew we were coming for a visit and when we were leaving, he was always in the kitchen window waving goodbye until we drove out of sight. I can still see him now waving goodbye. I will miss him dearly. Rest In Peace Peace Pops.

My thoughts and prayers are with Rosey and her family.  He will be missed in the neighborhood.  He so loved sitting in his garage and watching over all his neighbors.  RIP dear Neil.

I’ll miss Neil and Rosie at Dennys on Fridays. Neil had a good sense of humor and great stories. Thoughts and prayers for the family. 

It is with deep sorrow I send this message to Neils family and loved ones.  Neil was a good friend and neighbor and he will be missed.  You have my sympathy and prayers.
