Age 68, of Coon Rapids
Passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2023.
Preceded in death by his mom, Mary (Spohn) Schultz Pierskalla; dad, Benedict Schultz Jr.; step-dad, Alfred Pierskalla; brother-in-law, Jim Weiss.
Survived by his children, Jacob (Susan) Schultz, Curtis Schultz, Lucas (Andrea) Schultz; step-children, Scott Scanlon, Tanya (Robert) Wiggins; grandchildren, Jade, Collyn, William, Jackson, Jocelynn, Lily, Adler, Freya; step-grandchildren, Tony, Rhyder, Isabella; sisters, Lynnette Weiss, Kathy (Daniel) Belsheim; further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Gary was a man strong of heart and loud of laughter, stubborn yet full of grace. The pride, hope, and unconditional love Gary had for his sons, step-son & step-daughter can be seen in the finest and greatest details of their lives.
The tenderness and care for his grandkids was thoughtful and unyielding. He had great joy when his family would come together, and it brought happiness to us all when he was around.
He was quick to make friends and help anyone. He gave shelter and fed those who needed safety and comfort without ever wanting anything in return.
He gave of his spirit for others whose inner light had begun to waiver, ever devoted to his God.
He rode many miles lifelong to see the beauty of our country with family and friends.
For this and so much more, thank you, Gary. Our lives have been forever changed by your presence and our loss.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Church of the Epiphany (1900 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids). Visitation 5 pm – 7 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Gearhart Funeral Home (11275 Foley Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids) and from 9:30 am until time of Mass on Friday at church. A Luncheon will follow.
