Jamie was born on September 26th, 1981, in Abilene, Texas to Boyd and Virginia Brock. She grew up in Quitman, Arkansas and attended St. Joseph School in Conway, where she graduated High School in 1999. She then attended the University of Central Arkansas where she received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration majoring in both Marketing and Management Information Systems, graduating in December 2004.
It was during her time at UCA that she began working for Arvest Bank as a teller, and met the love of her life, Matthew. During her career at Arvest she became a Database Administrator. Matthew and Jamie were married on October 20th, 2007, sharing 16 years of marriage together. They then welcomed their son, Ayden, in 2012.
Jamie was a beautiful, gentle soul and loved bringing joy to her family and friends around her. She especially shined in her role as a wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, reading and crafting. She liked hiking various trails in Central Arkansas, going on bike rides with her son Ayden, and traveling to the beach every summer with her family.
Jamie especially loved gardening. She looked forward to the local spring plant sale every year and planning her backyard garden. Whether it be growing flowers, herbs, or vegetables; she had quite the green thumb. She also enjoyed cooking and incorporating items from local farms and bakeries when possible.
Jamie leaves behind to cherish her memory; her husband Matthew Phillips and son, Ayden of Conway; her parents, Boyd and Virginia Brock of Quitman; her brother, John Brock (Marissa) and niece Maryalice of Marche; her sister, Cassie Zwirnmann (Aaron) and nephews, Nathan and CJ of Enola. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she cherished deeply.
Jamie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Rebecca Rodriguez and her paternal grandparents, James and Dathine Brock.
Jamie will be deeply missed by all those she touched throughout her life. Her family suggest that anyone wishing to make a charitable contribution do so to the Carti Foundation at www.carti.com/foundation, or by supporting one of her favorite, local businesses; The Farmstand at Bell Urban Farm, BMB Creations Bakery, or Berkeley Farms.
A memorial gathering honoring Jamie is scheduled for Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
